Program/Speakers

There are two things you need to know about this year's event:

First, our planning team has agreed it will not be as profitable to have a conversation with ourselves about this important topic, so we're including several people from outside the missions community who share our faith and passion for the Great Commission.

Second, we have chosen to embrace the TED talk format of shorter presentations that get right to the point, unpacking the big idea in eighteen minutes or less. The shorter platform presentations will also give us more time for peer learning as we reflect on what we've heard around the table.

This Year's Speakers:

Cobie Langerak heads TRIAXIA Partners' Leadership Practice, specializing in executive coaching, leadership development, and succession management. Prior to joining TRIAXIA Partners, she was the Senior Vice President of Corporate HRM Leadership and Organization Development with Philips International B.V.

T.J. Addington is the Senior Vice President of Reach Global, the international mission of the EFCA, which has 550 personnel whose ministry touches nearly 100 countries of the world. He serves with the EFCA president and four other senior leaders who make up the EFCA Directional Team.

Tim Breene is a co-author of Jumping the S-Curve: How to Beat the Growth Cycle, Get on Top and Stay There published by HBR Press. He has served for a decade on the executive leadership of Accenture one of Fortune Magazine's Top 50 most admired companies in the world. He serves on the board of World Relief and attends Grace Chapel in Lexington, Massachusetts.

C. Norwood Davis serves as Chief Financial Officer at 12Stone© Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Named the 2010 Fastest Growing Church in the United States and among the Top 50 Largest Churches in America by Outreach Magazine, 12Stone© Church (with three locations) serves more than 11,000 adults and children weekly with its unique worship and teaching styles.

Dave Gibbons is the author of an award-winning book on culture and the church called The Monkey and the Fish. He has served on the Board of World Vision US, and helps to guide a group of third-culture faith communities called Newsong. (Dave will join us by way of a video interview.)

Skye Jethani is an ordained pastor, author, editor and speaker. He serves as the senior editor of Leadership Journal, a publication of Christianity Today International. Skye blogs regularly for the Huffington Post; his first book, The Divine Commodity: Discovering a Faith Beyond Consumer Christianity, was released by Zondervan in 2009.

Francisco "Paco" Amador serves as the campus pastor for the bilingual New Life Community Church congregation in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. He spent two years as a missionary in Spain and invested in students for nine years as a Chicago Public School teacher

Perry LaHaie is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader who has recorded six CD's of original songs including his latest release, Endless Fields. He serves on the staff of Frontiers using his radio and music skills to call followers of Jesus to abandon the American dream and go to the Muslim world.

Camille Bishop serves as the Assistant Provost at University of the Nations with responsibility for faculty development and new curriculum initiatives. She is also an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University and Colorado Christian University. Camille has visited sixty nations of the world, interacting with educators, government officials, and other non-profit agencies. When she's not serving internationally Camille splits her time between her international office, located on the outskirts of Geneva, Switzerland and her home office in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is the author of We're In This Boat Together, a leadership fable about intergenerational leadership. Camille will facilitate the young leader forum and present a workshop on the challenges and opportunities associated with next generation missionaries, including off the grid entrepreneurs who circumvent traditional structures in pursuit of Great Commission opportunities.

Jane Overstreet is the president and CEO of Development Associates International (DAI), which provides training and consulting in leadership and organizational management to more than 11,000 Christian leaders in thirty-eight countries annually. Prior to joining DAI, Jane served as Director of Legal Services for Youth With a Mission. She has been an adjunct professor at Eastern College and has provided legal consulting to many Christian organizations. Jane is also a member of the leadership working group for the Lausanne Committee on World Evangelization and the author of the newly released book, UNLEADER: The Surprising Qualities of a Valuable Leader. Jane will draw from her experience engaging leaders around the world to share a workshop on the deep changes affecting the relationship between the Great Commission community in North American and the majority world.
